Why do you write
romance?
GLH: I’m a
hopeless romantic and no matter how tough the journey, I want that HEA in the
end. No matter how corny, the getting there is what I wait for.
Are you aware of any
themes that run through your stories? If so, what are they?
GLH: Yes
definitely. Although, this book is a standalone, it’s a prelude and introduces
the Fallen Guardians world, which I’ve already started to write. It’s the
reason why several gods fell and now live on this realm as Guardians.
What would you like
readers to take away from your stories?
GLH: That
even in your darkest moments, there is always hope. And I say this from
personal experience too.
What is your writing
schedule?
GLH: I
write in the morning after a light editing/reread of the last ten or so pages I
did to get back in the zone. Then in the evenings, I write some more. I’m one
of those writers who must get the rough draft written first before I start the
revisions and rewrites, or else I’d just sit there staring at a sentence trying
to fix it, make it different/ better, then wonder where the heck did time go
to.
What is your best
memory?
GLH: When
my kids were born and I first saw them.
What is your favorite
guilty pleasure?
GLH: Cadbury’s
chocolate covered Turkish Delight—just thinking about it makes me crave for
some. :)
What is your favorite
fairy tale? Why?
GLH:
Beauty and the Beast. He’s all scary brutal and rough, and still Belle found
the gentleness of the man beneath all those layers. And the fact Belle always
had her nose buried in a book. :)
What was your favorite
vacation?
GLH: When
we went to Disneyworld in Florida. Awesome.
Name one
person that you feel supported you outside of family members.
GLH: Piper
Shelly. We met through a critique group and became really good friends. She
watched out for me.
How did
you come up with the title?
GLH: With
much difficulty. :) Actually, it went through several title changes while
writing the manuscript, then I wrote a pivotal scene and I just knew this was
it. I'm not going to say more, but you’d figure it out when you read the book.
