Why?
Well, lets see. First, the man is damn sexy.
Second, I was a teenager when Buffy came on and he was a knight in (slightly dented) shining armor. He protected Buffy, whether she needed it or not. It was also one of my first experiences with Kick-ass heroines, and the combination made the show memorable for me.
