Fall Colors, Cold Evenings and Long Nights.

Fall is my favorite time of the year. I live in the Ozark Mountains and look forward to the changing colors. They're so vibrant and calming and this time of year really pushes my daily word count up.

Now, Don't those pictures relax you?
I can here your questions. How can leaves changing colors help someone write more? Well let me explain.

In the fall the temperatures fall, which generally make people happier, more relaxed. The days get shorter, which means I have more time inside. Now do you get to the point.  : )
I live on a farm, with a big garden and there's always work to be done. I'm outside most evenings until seven or eight. By the time we eat dinner, then clean up I don't get a chance to sit until after nine. Which doesn't leave a lot of time in front of the computer.

With the fall we till the garden up and get it ready for next year. The plants are covered with mulch and ready for the winter and mowing the grass is over. Yeah  : )
Then the days get shorter which means I get to go inside earlier.
Dinner is served at an earlier hour and I get more time to write.
That's why I love fall. It allows me to write more without feeling guilty because I have so much work to be done around me.

What helps you find more time to write?

Here's a little peak into what I'm working on.

Last Chance to Run, Romantic Suspense.

Lynda,

Autumn is my favorite time of year, also. I live on the southeastern Colorado prairie, so our fall colors aren't as vibrant as yours (somewhat envious of your trees-lolol), but there is still something beautiful and breathtaking in an autumn sunset sending its colors over the prairie.
