Halloween: My top ten horror movies

It’s Halloween, my favorite time of the year when I love to watch my favorite horror movies. Here is a list of my favorite horror movies.

1. Halloween (I love the original by John Carpenter)

2. The Frighteners (This one mixes funny with the very scary)

3. Hellraisers (No one does it better than Pinhead. Tip: Don’t open the puzzle box!)

4. Amityville Horror (Again, the original with James Brolin, yes James, not Josh. LOL)

5. Bram Stoker’s Dracula (I loved Gary Oldman as Dracula)

6. Underworld trilogy (I loved all of these movies. Vamps vs. Lycans done very well)

7. Night of the Living Dead (The original black and white scared the hell out of me)

8. Hocus Pocus (Hilarious! The perfect Halloween movie. Loved the song used to enchant the children)

9. Van Helsing (Hugh Grant—need I say more?)

10. The Howling (I thought this was one of the first werewolf movies done well)

Well, that is my list. I’m sure I’m missing a lot of great movies, but that’s all I could think of right now.

I would like to add a television episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer that is also one of my must watches for Halloween. Set on Halloween, Buffy and her Scooby gang run into trouble after putting on enchanted costumes that make them turn into the costume characters.

Happy Halloween everyone!
