Nifty Tricks

Did you know if you peel a banana from the bottom, you won’t get all the string? It’s how monkeys do it.

Also, holding a slice of bread in your mouth while chopping a round onion, prevents you from tearing up.
I thought about all these nifty kitchen tricks and wondered how a writer’s would use similar techniques in their writing.
Reading aloud for dialogue and content smoothness is one.
Turning on every proofing option available in your word processing program is another.
I did try reading my sentences backward once to catch errors. It didn’t work well for me.
Do you have any tried and true tricks of the trade? Any funny stories to share?

LOL, I didn't know that about peeling bananas. Damn monkeys. Why are they so smart?
I don't have any tried and true tricks. I just write and make mistakes, then I try and fix the mistakes. Chances are I don't get them all.
