An older Book, but a favorite of mine

I can't count the times that I have read and re read this book. A mix of drama, romance, suspense, and much much more, Sidney Sheldon's Nothing Lasts Forever has landed itself a permanent place on my keeper shelf. When I was in my early teens, a librarian back in El Paso recommended this book to me. I was always looking for new books to read, so of course I took her suggestion and checked out the book.

And wow.

Nothing Lasts Forever revolves around the lives of three new doctors preparing for their residency in San Francisco. Paige Taylor, Kate Hunter (known as Kat) and Betty Lou Taft,(She goes by the name Honey) The women meet at orientation and decide to room together. Three strangers, with one thing in common- the trials and tribulations starting out. Sheldon's characters in this story find their way into the readers hearts and minds. There's so many unexpected surprises in this story.

The backgrounds of each woman is very diverse, and Sheldon shows us a glimpse of their history in bits and pieces throughout the book, and the reader will come to understand why the woman are they way they are, and how they've overcome their pasts.

I have worn out my mass market paperback copy of this book, and finally got myself a nice hardcover. If anyone likes a mix of genres with a medical backdrop, I really suggest Nothing Lasts Forever.

Have you ever gotten a recommendation that you chose hesitantly, but were quite surprised at how much you loved the book? Share your story with me, would you?

I do hope if you come across a copy of Nothing Lasts Forever, you might give this thrilling book a whirl?

The one book I was pleasantly surprised by recently was "The Strange Affair of Spring Heeled Jack" by Mark Hodder. I'm halfway through it and keep going back to re-read parts. I've renewed it twice, put a hold on it at the library then returned it to check it out again. LOL
