Book Review: Foresight

Todays Book Review: Foresight, by author Sherry D. Ficklin

Below is the blurb:All Grace Archer wanted to do was graduate from high school and get on with her life. But the Gods of Fate had other ideas. Attacked at her graduation by a mysterious woman and a gruesome henchmen, Grace was lucky to escape with her life. Rescued by her Aunt Phoenix and a Fae warrior named Chris, Grace is confronted by a startling truth: her mother was the Greek Goddess Pandora. Now Grace must protect her mother’s box from the crazed demi-goddess Lilith, who is determined to use it to unleash destruction on Earth. As if her blood legacy wasn’t bizarre enough, Grace begins to develop frightening powers that threaten to destroy her from the inside out. In a world where nothing is what she thought, can Grace find the strength to defeat Lilith? Can she learn to control her powers before she loses her mind?

My review: It started out like an ordinary day. Grace prepared for graduation. Oh, to be able to walk up and get her diploma, after all those years of hard work, freedom would finally be hers!

But something changed that. Something Grace never expected. After a startling and frighting attack, Grace learns things about her life and past that she could never have guessed. Faced with the news that stretched far beyond the imaginations of non- believers, Grace travels with her aunt and Fae warrior Chris, she must come to terms with her identity and stay one step ahead of danger.

I admire Grace. She's a strong willed character and that takes a lot if one learns the kind of things about her parents that she did. She's brave and very likable. She's witty and smart.

There is a lot of action in this book. Just when you think things are going to calm down, a new danger and adventure arises that sends the characters on a wild ride. I loved the magic, the secrets and the suspense. The ending brings out so many emotions. This is the first in a trilogy.

I found this to be riveting and enjoyable. I can't wait for the next installment to come out. If you like YA, paranormal/fantasy, then look into Foresight. Get swept up in the magic and mayhem and fall in love.

On a rating scale, (and I'll use lightning bolts, since I love storms) I'd give Foresight 4.5 out of 5 Lightning Bolts.

The genre's I don't really read are historical (unless it's time travel), m/m. I read some erotic/erotica, as long as it still has a great storyline. My favorite genres are romantic suspense, paranormal, and contemporary. I've been reading urban fantasy lately, too, and of course, YA.

I hope everyone has a great month! It's February already!
