I voted that they are to be expected. Even so, sometimes they are a bit startling. I guess it has to do with the skill with which they are written for some of us. For others, they are going to jump off the page and and bite no matter how well the story is written.
I think you are right. It all comes down the readers opinion. I also think you should know what you are reading before you read. In saying that I think we have to realize we write the way we feel we should and we can't please every one. You have to stay true to yourself and your story. Don't take it personally. I write paranormals and not everyone likes them. Doesn't make me a bad writer just makes my writing not their cup of tea. Plus looks like the majority don't really mind these word. That should be a boost for the writer. It is all in fun. Not trying to put anyone down. I just thought it would be fun to see the outcome. Thanks for voting!
I'm in favor of locker room words usually. I just finished a piece where I experimented to see how hot I could make it without them. It was fun and a little eye-oepming.
I would love to read it some time. I don't think there is any one formula to writing that amazingly sexy scene. I think it all comes down to how it makes us feel. I want to feel breathless and overwhelmed by the love of the couple. Its not about the words for me, it is about the feelings I feel while reading it. That's what we are all looking for right. Not some beautifully perfect words, you can read a lot of things and say it was beautifully written. But did it make you feel something? I think this is what he have to give our readers. They want to be swept away on a sea of emotions. That's my thoughts on it.
